Me & my Toy!

Toys are the bestest companion of a child. I had many, the boy’s stuff, cars, balls and the soldier dolls. Each had its own worth, though the liking changed periodically. Some became much lovable & devout then the others; the sequence kept changing.

Toys are possessions generally gifted by someone who loved you; read here, ‘The Provider’.

My Provider gifted me a toy, personified.

It was always there, even when I slept; somewhere, around me.

Early ages, Infancy & Childhood, It was the most dependable. I would hold it close whenever I was exposed to new settings. It would give me the greatest comfort and gave back incomparable love & joy. I needed the toy every time before my sight, it was special.

It taught me ‘Life’.

In my adolescence, it kept gazing at me, showering its love. It knew that I am fleeing, looking for happiness beyond.

My fondness had diminished, but I still wanted it when I came back home after merriment with the world.

I grew up fast. I was an adult living in my own world. Life was exciting.

In this transition, I left behind the toy. While it still gazed and smiled at me. I never reciprocated. I had new companions; I did not want to embrace my old toy. In my stride, I snubbed the toy and the day arrived that the provider took away the toy back from me. Probably, for someone who merited the joy more.

Now, left behind are the memories and pictures of me & my toy.

You were my esteemed possession, Papa. You were my TOY.
